Honoring Hardworking Moms: Insights and Advice from the RGK Team

Here’s to all the moms out there as we celebrate Mother’s Day

May 10, 2023

Mother's Day is a dedicated occasion that allows us to reflect and honor the incredible women who have nurtured and raised us. For our real estate team, we are especially thankful for the powerful women in our lives and on our team inspiring each other with dedication to both their families and excellence in their careers. We believe that inspiration can be found by cheering each other on, supporting one another and celebrating the ‘wins’ we have both for our clients and in our personal lives.

As working professionals, we understand the challenges that come with juggling a career and family. However, we also know that being a mother can be a source of strength and motivation. Working moms embody determination, resilience, and multitasking skills like no other. They seamlessly manage the responsibilities of raising children while pursuing their professional ambitions. Seeing our children thrive and succeed gives us the drive to pursue our own goals and achieve success in our careers.

The real estate industry – much like motherhood - demands dedication, commitment and perseverance. Below, you'll find the insightful answers from the RGK team as we asked them about the delicate balance between motherhood and their professional lives. The answers range from practical to humorous to inspirational. Whether at home, in the office or on the go, here’s to all the hardworking moms out there!

How do you hope to inspire your children through being a working mom?
Natalie: I hope they learn to be dedicated to the things in life THEY are naturally inspired by. I hope they learn that you can't always see your progress until you look back. And I hope they learn that they inspired me the most!
Jane: My hope is that Gray sees my work wins and misses and understands that you may not reach your goal the first time, but you will always get there eventually if you keep at it.
Allison: I want my kids to know that they can do whatever they want to do! You can do something you love AND make a living at it!
Amy: It's great for Ella to see me working hard so she knows she can do anything she puts her mind to.

What is the best advice you can give (or have received) as a mom and a professional?
Allison: Be present in the moment. This is easier said than done in real estate but I try really hard! When I am mom-ing I try not to get distracted by work, and when I am working, my family knows to give me the time and space to get it done!
Jane: Don't forget to take time for yourself.
Amy: Sleep when the baby sleeps!
Natalie: Grace for others, grace for yourself. Create some balance in the imbalance of it all.

What are some of your favorite working mom "hacks?"
Allison:
Grub hub!
Jane:
Working from my car using the hotspot on my phone
Amy:
The iPad
Natalie:
Is Chipotle an acceptable answer? Ha! Good music in the car and putting cheap pots and pans in the dishwasher.

As a busy mom, how will you manage your self-care this Mother's Day?
Amy: I will definitely be enjoying a mimosa and hope to schedule a Four Seasons spa day this month.
Allison: Hopefully I will spend my Mother’s Day up to my elbows in dirt! Gardening feeds my soul!
Natalie: I will be sharing a few days at the beach with my daughter - my favorite self-care!
Jane: Going out for brunch and spending the day at home gardening.

In the real estate industry, we see many successful working mothers who serve as role models for us and for future generations. The women of RGK aim to demonstrate the remarkable balance between work and family, proving that success in both realms is attainable. We are proud to be part of a community of working mothers who are making a positive impact in our homes, in the Denver real estate industry and beyond. We hope to inspire not only our colleagues but also our children, teaching them the importance of determination, hard work, and a strong work ethic. Happy Mother’s Day!
