Know before you go:
Check the Rules and Hours – Each dog park has specific rules on leashes, vaccinations, and behavior. Check posted signs or park websites for hours before you go.
Bring Essentials – Pack water, a collapsible bowl, waste bags, and any other necessities to keep your pup hydrated and the park clean.
Know Your Dog’s Temperament – Ensure your dog is comfortable around other dogs and responds to recall commands to prevent conflicts.
Choose the Right Park – Some parks have separate areas for small and large dogs, while others offer open play spaces. Pick a park that suits your dog’s size and activity level.

Railyard Dog Park
The Railyard Dog Park was born from the efforts of Downtown Denver residents who wanted a dedicated space for their dogs to play freely. They identified a nearly one-acre parcel at 19th and Bassett Street, already designated as parkland but lacking funding for development. In 2006, The Railyard Dogs charitable organization was formed to raise the necessary funds. Conveniently located near Denver Skatepark and Commons Park, the Railyard Dog Park provides a much-needed off-leash space for urban pups and their owners.
